All Saints News for the Mardler

Well summer has passed and we are now well into winter. A summer highlighted by a visit by the Bishop of Thetford and the Church yard full of wild flowers.

On the 29thOctober we hosted the Benefice Service welcoming all from the 7 churches that now make up the Benefice which stretches from Redenhall up the Waveney Valley to Scole. A lovely service taken by Lynda Mansfield and Nigel with a very well filled church led by the benefice choir and of course David Hillier in fine form on the organ.

As I write it is the lead up to Remembrance Sunday on 12th November when we hold a service of Holy Communion with an Act of Remembrance. Jane Wood will read the names on our two WW1 and WW2 memorials and we all pause to reflect on those who laid down their lives for their country.

Soon Christmas will be very much on the horizon with us all counting down the days! We will have our Carol Service at All Saints this year on 10th December at 4.00pm. Very much an all age event where the youngsters bring up the crib figures and we enjoy a good assortment of our favourite Carols, a selection of readings and of course festive fair to conclude. It is very much the most celebratory and family services we have and is always enjoyed so please do join us and get your Christmas off to a joyous start.

Once Christmas is over we have our Annual Quiz held as always in the Village Hall, this year on Saturday 28th January. I am already looking for something a little different to test the little grey cells, so be assured a fun night is in prospect. As always you might think you have the right answer but only my answer, which will also be right, gets a markJJ. We will get Christmas out of the way first before advertising.

Let me finish by wishing you all a very wondrous, fun, and laughter filled festive season from us all on the All Saints PCC.
