30th November in the Thorpe Abbotts Village Hall
A village hall filled to capacity enjoyed a thoroughly entertaining race night. All 8 races were well supported and the two races where we auctioned off the horses saw some keen competition for the prizes on offer.
We were delighted to have got support from Adnams Brewery, with a Poly pin of bitter, Rushall Farm shop for the meat in our light supper and finally Shadwell Stud who provided us with goodie bags for individual winning punters and the main prizes for the two auctioned races, The Adnams Southwold Bitter Stakes and the Shadwell Mile.
We commenced the evening with the light supper prepared by the PCC and their families and had the raffle throughout the evening by way of a break between races to allow Mike on the Tote to do his sums!!
These events cannot be put on without a great deal of hard work behind the scenes so a big thank you top the PCC, friends and families who between them cooked the food rand the bar and welcomed all at the door. As important is a big thank you to our sponsors without whom it would not have been the huge financial community success it was. Delighted to say that we made just under £700 for Church Funds.
Well what about next year….. a decision on that going to have to wait!!
