The weekend 12/13 October saw the culmination of a great deal of work from the church team and their friends with the Harvest Festival of Flowers. The Church was filled with the most stunning arrangements on a theme of “By Gones” We also had the porch filled with the products of the Messy Church we had held in the village hall the week before. We welcome visitors from far and wide all of whom were hugely impressed, one lady telling us that it was quite the best flower festival she had been to all year. The produce together with tea and cakes all did a roaring trade meaning that together with very kind donations we made over £500 for church Funds from the weekend
The highlight without doubt was the visit of Julie Reinger as part of her live Treasurequest programme on Radio Norfolk on Sunday morning. We had been under strict instructions that no one was to know she was coming…. Despite our best efforts to hide the clue Julie quickly spotted the milk churn containing it and off she zoomed to her next location the Waveney Food Festival at Bungay.
The festival was concluded with our Harvest Festival service which was very well attended. All in all a very tiring but really most worthwhile event. I dare not mention anything along the lines of “when is the next one” just yet.
So a break now for a couple of weeks before our annual RACE NIGHT in the village hall.
